DAVID Beckham lashed out at claims he moved to the US to retire - and revealed he wants to increase his family by TWO.
In his first interview since making the high profile move to LA, the football legend revealed he's DESPERATE for his fourth child with wife Victoria to be a girl.
David said: "I'd love a little girl. But we're blessed to have three beautiful boys and if we're blessed to have another one or two children then that would be a blessing."
The extra additions to the family would grow the young Beckham clan to five - but loving dad David said there's nothing better than being a parent again and again.
He gushed: "Three boys - it's difficult at times but there's nothing that gives you that feeling of coming home and seeing the kids and spending time with them.
"There's nothing better in the world really than that. And if you're a parent, everyone realises that feeling."
And for the first time David has revealed what many expected - he's just a big softie who sobs while watching romantic comedies.
Told he was obviously an emotional parent David agreed by saying "without a doubt".
He went on: "You know I will be sitting at home and we'll be watching a film that's not even upsetting and Victoria will turn round to me and say, 'Are you crying?'.
"I've been an emotional person at home and when I'm at work. That's the way I've always been and that's the way I'll always be."
But Becks, 32, has hit out at critics who have lambasted his move to play for struggling Californian side, LA Galaxy.
He claimed there's no chance he's gone there to wind down towards retirement and he didn't sign with the lowly team for the £125 million contract either.
David raged: "There's going to be people that will sceptical about the move saying is it about the money or am I going into semi retirement. Where as I see it as another big challenge for me."
And he chose to make the move Stateside because he could return to the UK and play against his beloved Manchester United side.
Becks explained: "I played for MU and never wanted to play for any other English club. It would have killed me to play for any other English club.
"I never wanted to play for another team in Spain. I had offers from Italy but I just felt that I needed a challenge."
Becks was questioned just one week into his five-year contract with the Galaxy for an ITV documentary-but stressed he is completely committed to stay put.
He explained: "It's going to be hard work at times I'm sure but it's going to be great to bring up the kids here, to have the house, to have the school sorted.
"And to move over here to an amazing city and a passionate country it's going to be amazing. It's going to be great for us as a family."
David also said that he is resigned to the fact that his critics will claim his time in the US has been a failure, regardless of how he performs.
He admitted: "I'm sure at the end of the five years even if I have had success there will still people who will say that it's not been a successful time and I haven't taken football in America to another level.
"But you know it's going to be fun, it's going to be enjoyable trying to make it happen. If it happens then great if it doesn't everyone knows that I'll be trying my best."
Beckham raved about how he's already won over one fan at the Galaxy: "The kit man is called Raul. He said thank you for coming because you've made so many people talk about this club all over America.
"Even if we base it on that we've had success already. There would people around America who didn't know anything about soccer or the Galaxy."

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes host a party for the Beckhams

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes hosted a special party last weekend for David and Victoria Beckham. The Hollywood stars have organised the event with close pals Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett-Smith. 'Invitations went out all over Hollywood. They were printed on red velvet with gold lettering,' a source tells the New York Post. The do will take place at the Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown Los Angeles. David and Victoria arrived in LA on 12 July with sons Brooklyn, 8, Romeo, 4, and 2-year-old Cruz and they're looking forward to adopting the US lifestyle. 'The kids can't wait to go to basketball games and baseball games and eat American food,' Victoria, 33, tells Parade. But David admits he's miss English pie and mash. Posh says her main aim is to get her family settled. 'With David, so long as he's happy at home, he performs well,' she says. 'When he comes back from practice he's got us all there with smiles on our faces just to protect him and give him the support that he needs.'

Thierry Henry split-up with Claire?

THIERRY HENRY has walked out on his wife and two-year-old daughter, the News of the World can reveal.

The superstar footballer left devastated missus Claire after four years of marriage.
It explains why Henry was pictured in Paris last week, alone and not wearing his wedding ring.
The split came after he and 27-year-old Claire rowed over text messages and pictures on his mobile phone. She and the former Arsenal skipper, who completed a £16million move to Barcelona on June 25, had a furious bust-up which led to Henry leaving.
A friend of the couple said: "Claire is devastated. It was almost as if Thierry wanted it to happen. "He blatantly left his phone lying around the house and one day Claire picked it up out of curiosity. "She started flicking through his text messages. "There were also some pictures on the phone. "As soon as Thierry came in Claire spoke to him and they had a full-scale row. "Thierry told Claire that he was leaving and appeared to have a couldn't-care-less attitude. He just walked out and that was that." Frightened, the friend said Henry—who starred with Claire in the famous Va Va Voom Renault car telly ads—marched out of their mansion in posh Hampstead, north London, two weeks ago and has not returned since. The pal added: "He has not been back to see Claire or their daughter Tea since. "He did call her three days after leaving and asked her if she was okay. Well how could she be okay? Of course she wasn't. He has not called her or seen her since. "He has not been acting at all like his saintly image. Claire may have no choice but to consult solicitors about a divorce. She knows Thierry has been going out and that people have noticed he has removed his wedding ring." Henry, 29, is spending most of his time in Barcelona, where he is earning £128,000 a week. The friend added: "Claire dared not leave the house for the first two weeks because she was so upset and was hoping that Thierry would come back."
Glum
The friend also revealed the state of the marriage was one of the reasons the Arsenal legend decided to leave the club.
The pal explained: "It is definitely part of the reason Thierry is going to Barcelona. It is not all about football. "The fact his marriage has gone Va Va Boom played a part in his decision to leave London." Friends noticed that Henry no longer seemed happy in his wife's company at the French Open tennis championship last month. The pair arrived together at the Roland Garros stadium in Paris and, although Claire seemed happy, her husband looked bored and glum.
It was one of the last occasions the couple were seen in public together. A few days after their split Henry travelled to Paris for the wedding of Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria and multi-millionaire basketball player Tony Parker. Henry had travelled alone and was not wearing his wedding band for the star-studded bash at the city's ultra-plush Park Hyatt hotel.
The French striker was already secretly dating Claire—then known under her model name Nicole Merry—when he requested she be given the role as his co-star in the Va Va Voom telly ads for the Renault Clio. The couple soon became inseparable, and married in July 2003 in a £40,000 bash at Highclere Castle, Berks. The bride walked down a 100-metre aisle festooned with white lilies in front of 200 guests. The break-up of the marriage is the first real low point in what has been an idyllic life since Henry arrived at Arsenal in August 1999.
Henry, who rose from a childhood in a tough Paris suburb to become part of the French World Cup winning squad the previous year, was languishing as an underrated winger at Juventus when Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger bought him.
Gentleman
The star has taken pains to develope an image as a gentleman player who has not used his fame to cash in as a ladies' man. At the time of his signing he told how he missed his then girlfriend Sabrina, who continued to live in Monaco with the couple's cats. He went on to date pop singer Jae Jefferson before splitting with her in 2000 and enjoyed a brief fling with stunning nightclub hostess Alexandra Slater. Claire's friend added: "She just cannot believe that Thierry could just throw away four years of marriage like that. Their little girl is only two years old and has no idea what is going on or where her papa is. "Claire is doing her best to cope but she is really struggling at the moment."

Victoria and David to open a club in L.A.?

While David Beckham is playing soccer in America, Victoria wants to become the hostess with the mostest. Posh, 33, is talking about opening a chain of elite nightclubs in LA. 'They will be modelled on London's Soho House but more dynamic and exclusive – places for A-listers to mingle,' says a source. 'It's a perfect way to establish themselves among top showbiz society in America.' The plan is said to be the brainchild of Victoria but has her husband's approval. 'She wants to extend brand Beckham in LA,' the source tells the Mail On Sunday. 'And she has great ideas for a club in the city where Hollywood glitterati can unwind without being hassled by the public.'

The player, who is nicknamed "El Nino" left Atletico Madrid after finalising the lucrative Liverpool contract. He said: "It was a difficult decision, but I think it's a big step forward. The offer was difficult to refuse and it's good for everybody. My heart will always be Atletico." Torres doesn't have a reputation as a high rolling party boy - yet. Posh to star in Ugly Betty

Posh Spice Victoria Beckham has been signed up for a cameo role in American comedy Ugly Betty - and she is being paid a cool £70,000 to do it.

Mrs Beckham will star as herself in the next series of the NBC show.

The idea came from actor Eric Mabius, who plays Mode editor Daniel Meades in the show. He met Posh at a London party last month and persuaded her to sign up.

Victoria, 32, is to appear in two episodes - netting around £35,000 an episode for her work - and filming is due to start at the end of this month.

A source close to the Beckhams revealed: "Victoria has been thinking about it for a while after Eric suggested it. He had made no secret of wanting her to appear on the show because she is such a fashion icon, and that is what the show is all about.

"She epitomises what Mode, the magazine in the show, is all about. It is about trendy, slim people who are into high fashion.

"She was particular about not launching herself as an actress because she is aware that she isn't one. That's why she wants to play herself, so she doesn't have to act.

"It is an ideal job for her because she is moving to the States and is trying to build up her megastar status over there, so the part will certainly not do her any harm."

Ugly Betty, which is screened on Channel 4 in Britain, took the nation by storm when it first aired to our screens in January.

It follows the trials and tribulations of Betty Suarez, a plain girl with braces and questionable fashion sense, trying to make her way in the image-conscious fashion world.

The show is produced by Hollywood beauty Salma Hayek, and is based on a Mexican TV series.

The cameo role will delight mother-of-three Posh, who finally moves to Los Angeles to be with husband David as he begins playing for US football team LA Galaxy later this month.

Only weeks ago she was dealt a massive blow when NBC cut her reality TV show from a series to only a one-hour programme.

Along with the £70,000 Ugly Betty role, Posh stands to earn up to £10 million from the Spice Girls tour, which kicks off in LA in November and carries on with a series of one-off concerts across the world.

Phew, the girl is certainly raking in the cash - but will she have any time to spend it?

David Beckham to be a godfather

David Beckham, 32, and supermodel Kate Moss, 33, are to be godparents to ex-Hollyoaks star Davinia Taylor's firstborn son. The actress, who's married to sports agent Dave Gardner, gave birth to 7lb baby boy Grey at the private Portland Hospital in London on Tuesday. Davinia, 29, is best pals with Kate, while Becks is the former Man United teammate of Dave, 31. Kate visited the hospital this week and the footie hunk is due to meet the tot for the first time on Sunday. 'Kate's been in constant touch with Davinia as the birth got closer and she is over the moon for her friend,' a source tells the Daily Mirror. 'She had an inkling that Davinia might ask her to be godmother and she was absolutely overjoyed when she got the nod.'
