Becks turns down Simpsons

David Beckham has turned down an offer to appear in The Simpsons – because he's still upset about an episode that referred to Rebecca Loos. Becks, 32, is set to become a household name in the States and was offered a cameo role on the hit cartoon show But the LA Galaxy soccer star just wasn't interested, reports The Sun. He's obviously not forgotten the 2004 Xmas Simpsons special where Marge made a joke about his alleged affair with his assistant. Forget it, David. We'd love to see you on screen with Homer and the family.

David Beckham Interview

DAVID Beckham lashed out at claims he moved to the US to retire - and revealed he wants to increase his family by TWO.
In his first interview since making the high profile move to LA, the football legend revealed he's DESPERATE for his fourth child with wife Victoria to be a girl.
David said: "I'd love a little girl. But we're blessed to have three beautiful boys and if we're blessed to have another one or two children then that would be a blessing."
The extra additions to the family would grow the young Beckham clan to five - but loving dad David said there's nothing better than being a parent again and again.
He gushed: "Three boys - it's difficult at times but there's nothing that gives you that feeling of coming home and seeing the kids and spending time with them.
"There's nothing better in the world really than that. And if you're a parent, everyone realises that feeling."
And for the first time David has revealed what many expected - he's just a big softie who sobs while watching romantic comedies.
Told he was obviously an emotional parent David agreed by saying "without a doubt".
He went on: "You know I will be sitting at home and we'll be watching a film that's not even upsetting and Victoria will turn round to me and say, 'Are you crying?'.
"I've been an emotional person at home and when I'm at work. That's the way I've always been and that's the way I'll always be."
But Becks, 32, has hit out at critics who have lambasted his move to play for struggling Californian side, LA Galaxy.
He claimed there's no chance he's gone there to wind down towards retirement and he didn't sign with the lowly team for the £125 million contract either.
David raged: "There's going to be people that will sceptical about the move saying is it about the money or am I going into semi retirement. Where as I see it as another big challenge for me."
And he chose to make the move Stateside because he could return to the UK and play against his beloved Manchester United side.
Becks explained: "I played for MU and never wanted to play for any other English club. It would have killed me to play for any other English club.
"I never wanted to play for another team in Spain. I had offers from Italy but I just felt that I needed a challenge."
Becks was questioned just one week into his five-year contract with the Galaxy for an ITV documentary-but stressed he is completely committed to stay put.
He explained: "It's going to be hard work at times I'm sure but it's going to be great to bring up the kids here, to have the house, to have the school sorted.
"And to move over here to an amazing city and a passionate country it's going to be amazing. It's going to be great for us as a family."
David also said that he is resigned to the fact that his critics will claim his time in the US has been a failure, regardless of how he performs.
He admitted: "I'm sure at the end of the five years even if I have had success there will still people who will say that it's not been a successful time and I haven't taken football in America to another level.
"But you know it's going to be fun, it's going to be enjoyable trying to make it happen. If it happens then great if it doesn't everyone knows that I'll be trying my best."
Beckham raved about how he's already won over one fan at the Galaxy: "The kit man is called Raul. He said thank you for coming because you've made so many people talk about this club all over America.
"Even if we base it on that we've had success already. There would people around America who didn't know anything about soccer or the Galaxy."

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes hosted a special party last weekend for David and Victoria Beckham. The Hollywood stars have organised the event with close pals Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett-Smith. The do will take place at the Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown Los Angeles. David and Victoria arrived in LA on 12 July with sons Brooklyn, 8, Romeo, 4, and 2-year-old Cruz and they're looking forward to adopting the US lifestyle. 'The kids can't wait to go to basketball games and baseball games and eat American food,' Victoria, 33, tells Parade. But David admits he's miss English pie and mash. Posh says her main aim is to get her family settled. 'With David, so long as he's happy at home, he performs well,' she says. 'When he comes back from practice he's got us all there with smiles on our faces just to protect him and give him the support that he needs.'

THIERRY HENRY has walked out on his wife and two-year-old daughter, the News of the World can reveal.

The superstar footballer left devastated missus Claire after four years of marriage.
It explains why Henry was pictured in Paris last week, alone and not wearing his wedding ring.
The split came after he and 27-year-old Claire rowed over text messages and pictures on his mobile phone. She and the former Arsenal skipper, who completed a £16million move to Barcelona on June 25, had a furious bust-up which led to Henry leaving.
A friend of the couple said: "Claire is devastated. It was almost as if Thierry wanted it to happen. "He blatantly left his phone lying around the house and one day Claire picked it up out of curiosity. "She started flicking through his text messages. "There were also some pictures on the phone. "As soon as Thierry came in Claire spoke to him and they had a full-scale row. "Thierry told Claire that he was leaving and appeared to have a couldn't-care-less attitude. He just walked out and that was that." Frightened, the friend said Henry—who starred with Claire in the famous Va Va Voom Renault car telly ads—marched out of their mansion in posh Hampstead, north London, two weeks ago and has not returned since. The pal added: "He has not been back to see Claire or their daughter Tea since. "He did call her three days after leaving and asked her if she was okay. Well how could she be okay? Of course she wasn't. He has not called her or seen her since. "He has not been acting at all like his saintly image. Claire may have no choice but to consult solicitors about a divorce. She knows Thierry has been going out and that people have noticed he has removed his wedding ring." Henry, 29, is spending most of his time in Barcelona, where he is earning £128,000 a week. The friend added: "Claire dared not leave the house for the first two weeks because she was so upset and was hoping that Thierry would come back."

The friend also revealed the state of the marriage was one of the reasons the Arsenal legend decided to leave the club.
The pal explained: "It is definitely part of the reason Thierry is going to Barcelona. It is not all about football. "The fact his marriage has gone Va Va Boom played a part in his decision to leave London." Friends noticed that Henry no longer seemed happy in his wife's company at the French Open tennis championship last month. The pair arrived together at the Roland Garros stadium in Paris and, although Claire seemed happy, her husband looked bored and glum.
It was one of the last occasions the couple were seen in public together. A few days after their split Henry travelled to Paris for the wedding of Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria and multi-millionaire basketball player Tony Parker. Henry had travelled alone and was not wearing his wedding band for the star-studded bash at the city's ultra-plush Park Hyatt hotel.
The French striker was already secretly dating Claire—then known under her model name Nicole Merry—when he requested she be given the role as his co-star in the Va Va Voom telly ads for the Renault Clio. The couple soon became inseparable, and married in July 2003 in a £40,000 bash at Highclere Castle, Berks. The bride walked down a 100-metre aisle festooned with white lilies in front of 200 guests. The break-up of the marriage is the first real low point in what has been an idyllic life since Henry arrived at Arsenal in August 1999.

Posh to star in Ugly Betty

Posh Spice Victoria Beckham has been signed up for a cameo role in American comedy Ugly Betty - and she is being paid a cool £70,000 to do it.

Mrs Beckham will star as herself in the next series of the NBC show.

The idea came from actor Eric Mabius, who plays Mode editor Daniel Meades in the show. He met Posh at a London party last month and persuaded her to sign up.

Victoria, 32, is to appear in two episodes - netting around £35,000 an episode for her work - and filming is due to start at the end of this month.

A source close to the Beckhams revealed: "Victoria has been thinking about it for a while after Eric suggested it. He had made no secret of wanting her to appear on the show because she is such a fashion icon, and that is what the show is all about.

"She epitomises what Mode, the magazine in the show, is all about. It is about trendy, slim people who are into high fashion.

"She was particular about not launching herself as an actress because she is aware that she isn't one. That's why she wants to play herself, so she doesn't have to act.

"It is an ideal job for her because she is moving to the States and is trying to build up her megastar status over there, so the part will certainly not do her any harm."

Ugly Betty, which is screened on Channel 4 in Britain, took the nation by storm when it first aired to our screens in January.

It follows the trials and tribulations of Betty Suarez, a plain girl with braces and questionable fashion sense, trying to make her way in the image-conscious fashion world.

The show is produced by Hollywood beauty Salma Hayek, and is based on a Mexican TV series.

The cameo role will delight mother-of-three Posh, who finally moves to Los Angeles to be with husband David as he begins playing for US football team LA Galaxy later this month.

Only weeks ago she was dealt a massive blow when NBC cut her reality TV show from a series to only a one-hour programme.

Along with the £70,000 Ugly Betty role, Posh stands to earn up to £10 million from the Spice Girls tour, which kicks off in LA in November and carries on with a series of one-off concerts across the world.

Phew, the girl is certainly raking in the cash - but will she have any time to spend it?

The report, in America's In Touch Weekly magazine claims the Beckhams have splashed out £250,000 on a walk-in closet at their luxurious new Los Angeles mansion. The room apparently comes with a "CAT-scan" such as those used in medical practice which will give her a detailed picture from all angles of herself wearing an outfit on a computer screen within seconds.
Mrs Beckham also, it is said, has a computer system set up to archive all of her outfits so that she can find them instantly, and most importantly not wear the same ones too often.
The long walk-in closet also comes with a leather floor, a Baccarat crystal chandelier, and an £40,000 Andy Warhol show print, the report concludes. For the record, Mrs Beckhams' publicist tonight adamant that the US reports had been wildly exaggerated, and that although they had had new closets installed, they were simply "bog standard" without any computer wizardy. Whatever the truth of it, such an elaborate expense would easily fit into the Beckham's new budget. David's move to LA Galaxy is worth £125 million. A source close to the Beckhams told the Mail that a 360-degree mirror, as see on the What Not to Wear, Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine's TV show in this country, has definitely been installed in their LA closet. The source added that Mrs Beckham also has pictures taken of herself in all her outfits, her shoes and handbags, so that she can simply punch in rough details and find where in her closet the items are. That system, the source said, also reminds her if she has worn the outfit recently - and hence whether it should be avoided for a few more months. Kelly Hoppen - the designer who is being paid an estimated £750,000 to personally put together the Beckham's new home - is also understood to have allowed for an indoor and an outdoor bar by the pool. David has ordered a state-of-the-art audio-visual system comprising the world's largest flat-screen TV, measuring 103 inches across, and costing £50,000. When visitors walk into the living space, the flatscreen displays a picture of David and Victoria but 'with a clap of the hands the plasma TV comes on' said a source. The security technology for the mansion - which neighbours that of their friends Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes - allows David and Victoria to view the goings on in any room in the house from wherever they are in the would over a secure internet website. The Beckhams will also employ an army of security guards there - 10 in total - living in a specially constructed "barracks" within the grounds of the house. Miss Halliwell will sadly be at a disadvantage however, when she quit the band to go solo, she is understood to have much of her royalty rights to the girls' nine No1 hits curtailed. That situation is said to have been pivotal in the girls reforming. For each of the estimated 25 live dates, reportedly starting in London and taking in the US and Asia, the band are set to earn £1 million from ticket sales and on-site merchandising at the venue. Fuller is understood to have masterminded a string of licensing deals ensuring the girls' new image will appear on everything from pencil cases to crisp packets and bubble bath. Ringtones are also a lucrative area. The girls are also to earn between £2million and £5million each for a documentary film they are making taking in as yet unseen previous material and new backstage footage of the reunion. Depending on how the reunion is received there is an option to make it into a feature-length movie, a sequel to 1998's Spice World. Such a film could prove vastly profitable when syndicated round the world by Fuller's 19 TV. In the coming months, television and magazine interviews as a band and individuals will be lined up in America and the US with bidding wars for the exclusive again proving profitable for the girls. Other earners include a planned glossy coffee table book, an Audience With the Spice Girls show on British television, and personal appearances for such things as switching on Oxford Street's Christmas lights and performing for such individuals as the Sultan of Brunei and assorted Russian oligarchs who have already shown interest.

This week could be the most busy weekend for England soccer players after four England soccerstar married their girlfriends over the weekend.
Chelsea soccerstar John Terry kicked off the busy weekend on Friday when he married Toni Poole at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. They were followed by Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard and Alex Curran at Cliveden House Hotel in Berkshire around 2pm on Saturday afternoon. Manchester United star Gary Neville went next, marrying Emma Hadfield at Manchester Cathedral around 3pm, followed shortly afterwards by his club teammate Michael Carrick and Lisa Roughead at St Peter’s Church in Wymondham, Leicestershire.
Gerrard teammate Jamie Redknapp and his wife and Louise reported plumped for Steven Gerrard’s bash, while Chelsea Joe Cole and Carly Zucker attended Michael’s wedding. Manchester United soccerstar Wayne Rooney reported turned up to both Michael and Gary’s wedding with girlfriend Coleen McLoughlin.

The six-part reality show, which details the Beckhams move to the States, was due to air on major US network NBC. Footballers reach out to help the search for Maddie

Football stars Cristiano Ronaldo and John Terry have made appeals for the return of missing British toddler Madeleine McCann.

Manchester United and Portugal star Ronaldo said anyone with information about the three-year-old's disappearance should come forward.
"I was very upset to hear of the abduction of Madeleine McCann," he told MUTV, the TV channel of Manchester United.
"I appeal to anyone with information to come forward.
"Please come forward."
Chelsea captain Terry, flanked by his Portuguese team-mate Paulo Ferreira, said Maddie's family were going through a terrifying ordeal.
"We were devastated to hear that young Maddie was abducted," he said.
"Our thoughts and feelings go out to her parents, her family and we are urging anyone out there with any information at all, please, please, please come forward.
"It's terrifying thing for her family to go through. She's only young so please, please, please come forward."

Portuguese police say they have interviewed more 100 people, 500 apartments have been searched and 350 pieces of information are being looked at.
But a press conference descended into chaos as the man leading the inquiry accused the media of hampering the investigation.
Chief inspector Oligeario Sousa rounded on reporters as they asked for more information.
Portuguese law prevents police from releasing information about the case while they search for a suspect.
Mr Sousa said earlier reports that a man had been spotted with a child matching Maddie's description in Nelas, in the north of the country, were false.
Local detectives have been criticised over the handling of the case since the three-year-old went missing from a holiday complex in Portugal last Thursday.
A senior child protection expert earlier told Sky News that British police must be drafted in urgently to help investigate the abduction.
Two child abduction experts have arrived in Portugal from the UK to help in the inquiry, Sky News crime correspondent Martin Brunt said.

British detectives are reported to be probing British paedophiles with links to the Algarve.
Former detective Mark Williams-Thomas, now a leading child protection expert, said the British police are among the world leaders in this kind of inquiry.

"Any inquiry should focus on three elements: access, opportunity and motive. It's about establishing how rather than why.
"A house-to-house search is the first thing to do, then a media appeal asking for information and sightings, giving a description and timeline."
Away from the centre of the resort, half-built or derelict buildings lie dotted around scrubland where sniffer dog teams have concentrated their searches.
"The fact that teams are now searching these areas for a second time suggests the police either have direct intelligence or it's to deflect criticism should anything turn up at a later stage."

You’ll be dead in 20 minutes.”Insiders say the packages have spread fear around the club, even though tests have shown the powder to be harmless.Forensic experts say the powdery granules were probably sugar, but the club has still been placed on high alert.One insider said: “Even though this has turned out to be a nasty hoax, it has really shaken everyone up. The celebrity mags both want to sign Chelsea captain John Terry, Manchester United star Gary Neville and teammate Michael Carrick.
England captain Terry, 26, and fiancee Toni Poole, 24, are negotiating a six-figure contract to snap them tying the knot near their £2.5million mansion in Oxshott, Surrey on June 15.

Jose Mourinho conceded Chelsea had 'almost' lost their grip on the Premiership title after failing to beat Bolton at Stamford BridgeUnited are now five points clear at the top after fighting back from two goals down to beat Everton 4-2 at Goodison Park and with just three games to play, Sir Alex Ferguson's side are favourites to land the crown.
A second-half equaliser from Kevin Davies pegged Chelsea back and despite all their late pressure, Mourinho's side had to settle for a share of spoils in a 2-2 draw.
Mourinho declared: "I feel sad but I have a big game on Tuesday night and that's a good thing in this situation. We have no time to be sad.
"But it is almost lost, almost. In football, almost is always a big question mark. It is not over because mathematically there is a chance and when the chance is there, we have to believe and chase the opportunity you have.
"At this moment we have to win and we have to wait. It is much more difficult. Manchester United, in this moment, feel very, very close. They have to lose two games and we have to win all three.
"They don't feel pressure and feel quite confident. They can come to Stamford Bridge, lose and still be champions.
"They are very, very close to it. But we win things as a team and we lose as a team. We do it together in both the good and bad moments."
Bolton failed to quell rising speculation that manager Sam Allardyce will leave the club in the summer by sending assistant Sammy Lee to face the media after the game.
Allardyce is understood to have told chairman Phil Gartside he intends to quit the Reebok Stadium this summer.
But Lee said: "It's just speculation. But Sam has been ill and he didn't travel down with the team - he came down this morning. So that is one of the reasons for my appearance.
"At the moment, as far as we are concerned, it is only speculation. As soon as we know anything about that, we'll let everyone know."
The speculation certainly did not seem to affect Bolton's players who recovered from Chelsea's first-half fightback to snatch the vital leveller.
Lee added: "There's a misconception going around about Bolton. We don't feel we get the credit we deserve.
"But we are just trying to get as high up the table as we possibly can. We are desperate to get into the Uefa Cup and delighted to get another point today. We got into their faces a bit more in the second half."
But while Mourinho had almost conceded the title to Manchester United, Lee insisted that everything was still to play for.
He added: "Until it is mathematically impossible, I am sure Chelsea will keep on fighting.
"I have too much respect for both teams and there is still a lot of football to be played."

Roo has a close call

WAYNE Rooney had a lucky escape when he hit a bad corner — and went for a terrifying spin in his new Lamborghini.
The Man U and England ace was driving to a restaurant when he lost control of his £200,000 Italian supercar.
Roo, 21, ended up facing the wrong way on the busy A6 between Manchester and Macclesfield.
But he escaped unhurt and was able to restart his Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. Next day striker Rooney — hero of United’s 3-2 Champions League win on Wednesday — told team-mates about his close shave.

A source said: “Wayne had a real fright. The car is seriously powerful. He only had it delivered a week or so ago and was finding out what it could do. He learned his lesson and is taking his foot off the gas now.”
Rooney ordered the car before Christmas. It does 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 195mph.
